Cancer consultant Dr Hugo de la Peña has raised more than £10,000 for cancer research

Dr Hugo has worked as a cancer consultant for the NHS for more than five years and has been actively supporting cancer charities throughout his medical and scientific career.
He said: “The London Marathon is many things including a wonderful, unique victory lap from all the hard work, training runs and fundraising. The London Marathon will always be one of the best days of my life, but it is also a monumental display of human defiance against illness, unfairness and misfortune.”
Cancer Research UK is the country’s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research. Dr Hugo has supported the charity throughout his career opening Race for Life, recruiting media volunteers and invited to appear in their TV national advertising campaigns from 2022.

Five week fighting tour of Japan is perfect preparation for Judo World Games

This intense training has also helped the gold medallist from Tokyo 2020 to prepare for qualification to compete in the next Paralympics in Paris next year.
Chris said: The camp was about building up to the Championships and World Games, to take it up to the next level and making sure we were in the best possible shape we can be.”
Chris, who is the current 100kg Judo Paralympic gold medallist, was one of a number of athletes taking part in training camps in Japan, organised by British Judo.
“Japan is the home of Judo, it’s a fantastic place to go to,” he said. “You come across different athletes, of different shapes and sizes, and different abilities. They are amazing fighters so it is top-class work, and really hard as well.

Claudia Unger, 41, has packed up her home in Cherington near Tetbury to live a nomadic lifestyle as a businesswoman with no fixed abode. She plans to continue to work with clients remotely and to blog about her experience as The Wanderlust Coach and on Instagram through the eyes of her canine companions Dr Watson and Captain Hastings.
The journey started recently when Claudia will set off on the Cotswold Way, carrying all her belongings and a tent. Her two dogs who are both black Labradors are keeping her company.
