As a rule, in towns and cities, we never get to enjoy the real beauty of the night sky. The depth of the darkness and the immense twinkle of the astral giants out in deep space.
Growing up in a rural part of Kent, I had a priveledge to experience just that. To lay in a field in the pitch black of night, in the serene calmness of nature, looking up at the pictoresque canvas above. There are few things in life which I have ever found more relaxing. Without doubt it is in my top 5, along with, sitting on a beach watching the waves gently crash to the shores. Or looking out across a golf course with the smell of fresh cut grass permeating the air.
Well, imagine my joy when I found Finca Astronomica, a stones throw from La Aljorra, Murcia. This family run business takes you on a journey, beginning at sunset with an indepth laser presentation of the night sky. Giving you insight into exactly what is above you. Immersing you with the facts about the great expanse with surrounds our little blue dot.
Following this you are invited to use the scientific grade telescopes to look out at distant galaxies and planet in our own solar system. Everything being described and explained in a clear and concise manner by the well versed team. My two children loved this the most, being able to look so deeply into space and having it painted into words so excellently.
But there is more to this experience also, with farm animal to interact with. Also there are plenty of games to play. All the families visiting convene and enjoy the night around the bonfire and barbeque provided. It really does make this a night to remember, under the stars.
